Zone Conference and Taviuni trip

North Zone Missionaries singing for zone conference. They sang “A Child’s Prayer”!
These missionaries are the best! Love them already!

Elder Mills trying to find the “ONE” without help.

We arrived at the port at 6:00 AM. The were not ready to load us til 6:30 and we didn’t leave til about 7:30! Was suppose to leave at 7:00. Next time we won’t worry about being there an hour early! Ha!

We were the first ones on. The workers back you up within inches of other vehicles.

Rope on the barge. It was huge!

These are the benches you sit on for the ride. It was raining so we were glad it was covered.

Selfie! As we were leaving Vanua Levu.

Pano as we were leaving the port.

Boat ride

We brought some food cause we were up and on the road at 4:30 AM. Peanut Butter and jelly sandwiches and carrots and watermelon.

Hello Taviuni!

Elders flat. They call it their garage cause the main area in the flat was a garage. I guess! Doesn’t look like a place to live, but they do live there!

There is a chicken hiding along the wall.

This is the Qeleni property. There is a church and flat down this lane. We had to go to the district presidents house to pick up the key for the gate.

Qeleni church and flat. We opened the church to look inside and were greeted by a swarm of very large wasps that have a wicked sting! They are huge!

Aroha resort restaurant. You can see the jetty(where we got off boat) in the background.

My hamburger, fries and mango smoothie. Yum!

Picking up President La’ulu at the Taviuni airport! A little bigger than Savusavu airport.

This is the view from the restaurant at the resort we stayed at. The Garden Island resort.

Another picture of the view

Dan snapped this photo of flower outside the back door of our room

This big guy is one of many hopping around the resort in the evenings.

Look close in the tree! Thousands of bats!,!,!

The bats flying around making lots of noise!

This is the Somosomo building. They have a nice chapel with an overflow area, like a 1/4 of a small gym.

This is the bus bringing the members from the other side of the island.

This was the program for the District Conference! For some reason they thought I needed to speak the longest in the Leadership meeting! Ha!

One family of children at the district conference.

I purchased some garments at the conference. They send some ladies over from Distribution Center in Suva to sell items because most people can’t get to Suva. This is Fijian prices!! 75 cents for bottoms and a dollar for tops!

Truck parked on the barge. I had to squeeze in!

Goodbye Taviuni for the third time!! We really are going this time!

Fun hour and 45 minutes

Off we go!!
