Labasa district conference

Funny signs you wouldn’t see in the US! Littering is a big problem in Fiji! Liqourland grocery and Ice cream jelly  store!

Car wash and Grog! (Kava)
Chicken is a big deal. This is not a restaurant add, it is a frozen chicken add.

Pack of dogs in the ally. They were fighting over something as we passed! 9 dogs!!

Hot chili pepper that grows on bushes here!

America should take a lesson from these Indian people. No Oreos and shaving cream for wedding party!

This bride groom was at the airport in Labasa. He consented to having his picture taken with us. The entire wedding party was all dressed up. Beautiful clothes

This is the prime minister of Fiji on the left and his body guard on the right. I wish I had gotten a better picture of the guard. He was huge! They flew into Labasa for meetings.

District conference. The sister next to me is a recent convert. She is awesome! She is the sister who fixed lunch for us at the service project (house cleaning) last week. Next to her is the branch presidents wife and the branch president next to the window. President Jim.

This is president Petero. He is the district president and is a firecracker. He says it like it is and is very dedicated to the work.

Beautiful girls at the conference. The little one on the left reminded me of Melia. So cute!!Her family had matching dresses and shirts they had made for the conference. It’s an island thing to wear matching clothes. The sisters have matching dresses made for conferences or events. Elder Keck and I have not got our matching outfits yet!

Elder Keck’s new hat. We finally found the one he was looking for. We bought 2. One for Elder Bryan in Suva.

These are a few of our treasures we picked up in Suva. The one on the left is a paddle. The one on the right above is a neck breaker and rib cracker. The one above the salesman called a brain picker. Fijians were cannibals many years ago…

Elder Keck doing a workout! We try to workout with a YouTube video every day.

Rain storm when we were in town one day last week.

Group of kids singing on a bus in Labasa. I’m not sure what they were doing cause school is out for break.

This is net ball. We watched onTV in Labasa. They play this game in Australia and New Zealand. Maybe in Europe?? No dribbling and the object is to get the ball to the open man directly under the basket. There is no backboard. And they don’t shoot unless they are right under the basket. Interesting game.

This is Esa! One of our friends from Savusavu. I asked him to show the gesture of someone saying yes. It is so funny. Esa is the best young man!
