Funeral in Taviuni

Cat taking a nap in a Fijian broom on President Cagelaba’s porch.

Presidents porch where the Unit in our branch meets for church in Vunavesi.

Sign inside on the wall of the porch. We are trying to get another sign on a post outside the flat.

School started this week in Fiji after their summer break. RayJay is in “Kindy”

Dan sent me this post. Maybe we are together a little too much.

On the barge. This was our trip to Taveuni. Lots of rain!

Missionaries greeting at the funeral at the Metei chapel. It was raining.

Sister Bautarua

Services at the chapel.

Elders folding up the Mats after the funeral.

This is the tomb (they have a different name for it) They built in the front yard.

This is the Bautarua’s front porch. When we arrived the casket was back in the left corner. Her brother is a minister in another church and they had another service here on the porch.

Moving the casket to the tomb.

Dan on the phone at Kia Time while we were waiting for our food.

Fresh flowers decorate the restaurant. The Fijian name for this flower means parrots head. The flower does look like a parrot.

Another arrangement

Gathering Kere kere items for the missionaries. A good amount of our time is spent shopping.

Coconut from our tree. The water in these green ones is delicious. Has a little fizz like a soda.

We cut up the meat of the coconut. It is chewy. The green coconut is softer meat.

I have made a lot of cookies since we have been here!! For the branch and the missionaries.

Rain again. This is our porch where we do our wash.
